You Were What You Eat

You Were What You Eat Vol. 1

Anna.jpg

Not a villain. Not a brooding love-interest. Just a normal, high-school vampire.

As a vampire, Anna knows about hunting. She knows how to find isolated prey, how to put people at ease, how to leave no trace behind. What she doesn't know about is high school. Students don't pay attention, her English teacher repeats the same lesson for days on end, and why does she seem to be the only one not bolting for the door when the bell rings?

With one friend who's obsessed with vampires and another who's not quite what she seems to be, Anna has to learn the rules of high school fast if she wants to remain undetected. As attacks throughout the city increase, suspicions mount. Anna tries to go unnoticed, but when her newfound friend sets out to prove the attacks are being caused by a vampire, Anna is left to wonder if her dark secret will be discovered. And what will happen to her if it is?

A Grave Problem

You Were What You Eat Vo. 2

Last year, when Mia helped get rid of a group of rival vampires wreaking havoc on the city, she thought that would be the end of it. This year, she's hoping for a chance to finally be a normal high school student. But a note wedged in her locker changes all that: someone knows what she did.

Now, instead of making plans with the boy she likes, Mia has to juggle her schedule around whatever the author of that note says. If she doesn't, she risks not only being exposed as a vampire, but being labeled as someone calculating enough to get rid of any competition. Adding to Mia's troubles are the questions about vampires from a friend who's just a little too interested, and a secret her boyfriend's keeping. There's something wrong with him - something so dark, Mia's not sure she'll survive the discovery.

Blood Relatives

You Were What You Eat Vol. 3

Carmine.jpg

That showdown in the woods last year really got to Carmine. She doesn't want to admit it, but she hasn't been the same since. She's been looking over her shoulder, waiting for something to lunge at her from the shadows. But just when she thinks she can't take it anymore, someone appears who makes it all seem ok.

Her friends might be suspicious, but Carmine doesn't care. What would they know about being a human who constantly finds herself fighting monsters? And with this new kid by her side, she's finally feeling like her old self again. But something's happening at school. Students are acting erratic - almost violent - for days before finally passing out and landing in the hospital. Carmine does her best to ignore it. After all, she can't be expected to fix every problem around here, can she? But when her old friend Sharon starts getting sick, Carmine has to decide: can she really afford to ignore this?

Not So Super

Every school has its problems; some just have a little more than others.

Phoenix Academy High School only caters to one type of student – potential superheroes that need a little extra help. While other superhero schools might expect perfection, Phoenix Academy knows better. Whether it’s the inability to go completely invisible, trouble getting animal sidekicks to listen, or just a lack of consistency or longevity, Phoenix Academy can help any student to reach their full potential.

Dean thought everything was fine, until he got that blue envelope in the mail. Sure, he might not be the best at school, but was he really the worst? According to the letter, he was. He’d been recommended for a transfer to infamous Phoenix Academy for his final year of high school. Now, if he wants to have any chance at superhero certification, he’s going to have to overcome his fear of heights long enough to actually fly more than a few feet off the ground. If he can’t, his superhero career is over before it even gets started. But with accidental force-fields blocking his way, lights flickering on and off at all hours, and a student who can look like anybody, Dean hopes he’s up for the challenge.
